Rayman Origins release dates announced for PS Vita, 3DS and PC

Ubisoft has announced the release dates for stellar platforming title Rayman Origins on the PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS and PC.

The PS Vita version is on track as a launch title a week before the portable's North American release on February 22th. The Nintendo 3DS version will be released on March 20th.

The PC version drops March 29, with no pesky DRM attached for the retail version and an activation key for the download-only versions.

Steam Mobile app now available for iOS and Android devices

Valve has released the Steam Mobile iOS and Android app, allowing Steam users to keep in touch with other users without the need to access the PC client.

The app will allow Steam users to chat with people on their friends list, as well as browsing the Steam catalogue to add stuff to their wishlist, stay up to date to discounts and offers and score themselves a Steam title while on the go.

Steam Mobile is currently in closed beta testing and gamers can express their interest simply by logging on to the app, which is free. They will be added as the testing progresses.

Shanda Games to distribute SD Gundam Capsule Fighter Online in SG, MY, PH and AU

Shanda Games International has announced its agreement with Bandai Korea to distribute the SD Gundam Capsule Fighter Online in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Austraila. The closed beta test will begin on February 14th.

SD Gundam Capsule Fighter Online is a free-to-play 3D Online Shooter by Bandai Korea. Players command units of Gundam from various eras. Each of the over 350 units have unique stats, weapons, movement and style with options for customisation for the creation of unique Gundam.

If I'd spent more than 28 seconds of my life watching The Sopranos I'd have a killer opening line for this preview linking some pithy quote from the show to H.R. Gieger. Instead, I'm left to lunge for the lowest common denominator and note that, at its heart, The Darkness II is a game about breaking people in two with your big black phalluses ('phalli'?).
